Bread Roll Facts

Don’t be alarmed if on the off chance your rolls turn green. You just needed to include more lemon juice in your mixture.

The reason for this strange reaction is that sunflower seeds contain chlorophyll, also known as chlorogenic acid, which reacts with the Bicarbonate of Soda when heated. Once the product cools, the reaction is complete and it turns green.

It’s quite safe to eat – if you can get your head around the colour – and the flavour will remain intact. Simply delicious.
